Alongside her work as a composer and singer, Jenny Plant has spent the past ten years working with Hilary Skewes, gaining extensive experience in musician contracting for some of the world’s largest television and film productions.
Her combined expertise as both a contractor and an artist, writing and performing for screen, gives her a deep understanding of the creative and practical needs of musicians. This unique perspective enables her to play a key role in supporting the LRO, ensuring the highest standards of collaboration and performance.

Sophie Procter
Sophie Procter has been working with Hilary Skewes & Co since 2022 and has been instrumental in the creation of The London Recording Orchestra.
After completing her music degree at the University of Manchester, Sophie developed her career across performance, production and artist management before moving into Musician Contracting and Score Coordinating - the perfect combination of her previous experience as Soprano in the vocal group The Apex Singers, Associate Artist Manager at PR-Artists, Production Assistant on various film sets and Orchestras and Ensembles Assistant at The Royal Northern College of Music.

Hilary began her professional life as a freelance cellist, after a degree in English Literature as a music scholar at Cambridge University, and post-graduate performance studies at Mannes College, New York.
When she started her own contracting business in 2001, she used her musicality to bring together players from the amazing musicians with whom she had had the privilege of working. Every player in a studio was chosen to match the character of the composer, the score, the project; and to mould together with each other into a seamless musical ensemble. Her clients from the earliest days of her business - for example Dario Marianelli, Alex Heffes, Patrick Doyle - continue to work with her today.
She continues to work in this creative way, and the genesis of LRO is steeped in an appreciation of the live talent of our musicians. This ensemble is your support system to bring creative and explorative contemporary scores alive.
